Our nation and world are in a period of continuing danger and difficulty: the record-high Pentagon budget is funding a new generation of nuclear weapons; the U.S.-supported killing and ethnic cleansing in Palestine continues; the Russia/Ukraine war remains a source of escalated danger of nuclear war; the last remaining nuclear disarmament treaty between the U.S. and Russia expires in February; the U.S. attacks on Venezuela open a new front of “forever wars.” The egregious costs of weapons buildups is also draining our tax dollars from critical civilian needs, among which are public K-12 schools and higher education. This conference continues the tradition of working to widen cooperation and collaboration among those advocating for nuclear disarmament and social and economic justice. The conference features experts in the nuclear disarmament space. Program topics include: Continuing Threats, Unacceptable Costs, Congressional Efforts to Cut Nuclear Weapons Spending and Extend the START Treaty, and Protecting our Future.
