On Thursday, July 17th, the anniversary of John Lewis’s passing, people in communities across the U.S. are taking action to seek a better system and carry forward the legacy of Good Trouble.

“Good Trouble Lives On” is a national day of action to resist the U.S. government’s growing attacks on civil and human rights, in the conviction that power must belong to the world’s people, not corporations, politicians, and war profiteers.

WHEN: Thursday, July 17th, 2025 from 5:30 PM — 8:00 PM
WHERE: Daley Plaza, 50 W Washington St, Chicago, IL 60602

We must continue to show the U.S. government that its system of domination and exploitation does not represent us – and that we refuse to accept attacks on our communities. Collective actions on July 17th will raise awareness and resistance through rallies, marches, teach-ins, and more. We demand an end to:

– The extreme crackdown on civil rights by the Trump administration, including abduction, internment, intimidation, censorship, and more.
– The attacks on various communities, whether black, brown, indigenous, queer, trans, immigrant, and others.
– The slashing of social programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security.
– *endless war funding, killing, exploitation, and resource extraction worldwide. – (*Bring your own signs to make sure that antiwar and climate messages are represented!)
