Great Lakes Regional Gathering – Gaza Solidarity
So much has happened regarding our topics in the past three months:
— Julian Assange has received a temporary reprieve from the High Court of London allowing him the right to appeal his extradition to the U.S. — President Biden signed a spending bill that increases southern border enforcement, tosses crumbs to immigration services, and trades away rights to asylum for migrants escaping violence and political turmoil. — In Gaza, thousands more have been killed. The resistance remains strong in the streets, on campuses, in council chambers, on the media, and at primary election ballot boxes across the country.
It’s time for updates on these issues, followed by a special focus on Palestine. It’s a perfect time for us in the Great Lakes area to get together, compare notes and make some plans for the upcoming months. With the Poor People’s Campaign Mass Mobilization in Washington D.C. on June 29th and the upcoming election in November and all that comes with it, now is the time to work together!
