Join us at Evanston Public Library for “The Voice of Hind Rajab,” an award-winning 2025 documentary that follows the Red Crescent response during the killing of Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl, by Israel’s military during the invasion of the Gaza Strip.

After the documentary, there will be a discussion with Sawsan Abubaker of Advocates 4 Justice and Lesley Williams of Evanston for a Free Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace, both recipients of the Cleland-Tholin Pursuit of Peace Award.

We will also discuss opportunities to support and join strategic campaigns like the Deir Samit – Evanston Sister City campaign; the Illinois Coalition for Human Rights campaign to pass Illinois HB 2723 to repeal a state anti-BDS law; and more.

“The Voice of Hind Rajab” has won multiple international awards and been called “a harrowing docudrama that makes a powerful appeal to humanity.” In the words of film critic Brian Tallerico, “…true action sometimes requires being confronted with visions of true horror instead of just reading or hearing about them. ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ is the confrontation its victim deserves.”

The documentary opened the first edition of the Gaza International Festival for Women’s Cinema in Deir al-Balah on 26 October 2025.

We hope you will join us for this difficult but important documentary and discussion.
